Hi Everyone!  I hope this finds you as excited as I am.  October through December has always been a favorite time, for everything from the changing weather to the wonderful  traditional foods that we know and love. 

 

November brings one of our most anticipated signature events, Meet the Masters.  Its six-year history of providing one of the best, most intimate networking opportunities in our industry has attracted the attention of event professionals nationwide.  Los Angeles is home to many masters who will join us, and we are privileged to host industry leaders from across the country, including several who serve on SEARCH's Board of Directors, an organization that assists event professionals in times of hardship. 

 

December brings our annual mid-year membership drive.  New members who sign up online during December don't pay registration fees and pay only half the regular cost of membership!

 

Celebrating ISES International's 25th Anniversary, the International Board is launching a great incentive for current members to promote our chapter's growth.  The "50 for 25" Recruitment Program will run from December 1, 2011 through April 30, 2012.  Be sure to check out the article below for details.

 

So if the saying is true that, "Your network is your net worth," there is no better time to join our chapter, get involved, and give yourself the best opportunity to increase your net worth going into 2012.

Meet the Masters 

ISES LA's sixth annual Signature Event, Meet the Masters, is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Monday, November 14, 2011 at the Millennium Biltmore in downtown Los Angeles.  Masters are seasoned, award-winning, business savvy, and nationally recognized event professionals with comprehensive portfolios, diversified backgrounds, exceptional levels of expertise and successful businesses or careers in senior management. This year, ISES LA is proud to collaborate with the SEARCH Foundation to highlight several Masters that serve on the Board of Directors!

 

The evening will feature a networking reception, "round-table" style dinner and a panel discussion with all of the Masters. Throughout dinner, Masters will periodically rotate between tables, providing guests with an outlet to connect, engage and converse with Masters and their peers in an intimate format. "50 for 25" Incentive Program


ISES 25th Anniversary

 

Dedicated and educated to deliver
creative excellence and professionalism in special events.

 

As a special thank you for 25 years of continued membership and commitment to growing the special events industry, ISES is giving back to its membership!  Join in the celebration by participating in our "50 for 25" Recruitment Program.  This program will run from December 1, 2011 - April 30, 2012.

 

New USA Members

- New members will have the $50 application fee waived if they enter the name of a current ISES member who referred them into the online form.

- Student members are NOT included in this promotion.

 

Existing USA Members

- Current members who refer new professional (non-student) members to ISES will be eligible to save money on their 2012-2013 membership renewal.

- Current members will save $25 for every new professional (non-student) member they refer to ISES up to the amount of their membership renewal. (12-16 members depending on the current member's membership type.)

- The new member application must have the referring member's name entered at the time of application submittal, to save $25 on 2012-2013 membership renewal; including the month of December.

- Student members are NOT included in this promotion

Event Solutions Magazine Spotlight Awards  

Event Solutions magazine Spotlight Awards are an annual awards presentation dedicated to recognizing the best and the brightest event professionals in the industry. The awards are presented in a variety of categories and honor both individuals and companies for their body of work in the previous year.

 

The Spotlight Award process is conducted in three phases over the course of four months: submitting nominations, selection of finalists and industry-wide voting to determine the winners, who are presented their awards in person the annual Spotlight Awards event at the Event Solutions Idea Factory.

Applications Available for the Marty McGowan Scholarship

The Marty McGowan/International Special Event Society Los Angeles Scholarship Fund was established to assist members of the Greater Los Angeles Chapter of ISES in their pursuit of educational opportunities and/or achievement of the CSEP designation. Awarding of a scholarship is made annually with the approval of the entire ISES LA Board of Officers and Directors. Certified Special Event ProfessionalCSEP 

Established in 1993, the Certified Special Events Professional (CSEP) designation recognizes event professionals who have successfully demonstrated the knowledge, skills and ability essential to perform all components of a special event. Upcoming exam windows and deadlines below:
