A Message From President Ronnie Jayne
Dear Friends,
I'm sure you expect my message to rhyme,
But not
this
time. (Oops, ... habits are hard to break!)
I'm so proud to be serving as President of ISES-LA.
It's
been an interesting journey -- considering I was once
a
totally "audio" person, with little consideration of
anything
visual. Chairing the Fundraisers, getting involved
with
Programs (monthly meetings) and attending Eventworld
and The
Special Event literally opened my eyes. One day I
found myself
using previously unuttered words like "decor" and
"chiffon"; I
caught myself looking over (and actually
understanding) a
floor plan -- and realized I had really expanded my
knowledge
as an event professional.
Getting involved has been the key to my growth of
knowledge
and contacts in the industry. Besides, it has real
moments of
FUN! Our Committees are looking for members interested
in
working on monthly Programs, Communications, the
Fundraiser
and the Joint Allied Mixer (JAM).
And speaking of the JAM, ... August 18 is just a
few weeks
away. It's going to be a great evening of opportunity,
so BE
THERE!
We've got so many terrific events coming up this
year and
an energetic Board to help see through our theme of
"Sharing
Our Strengths". We need to Share our knowledge with
each
other, work together ("Hire ISES") -- and let the
outside
world know that when they want the best event
professionals,
they need look no further than our ISES members.
