Jackie Korman, ISES LA President

It's really hard to believe that more than a year has passed since the time I stepped up to be the President of the Los Angeles Chapter of ISES (actually I was the only one who was willing to do it, but that's another subject altogether). At any rate, let me tell all of you that I had absolutely no idea of how much of a growth experience this would be for me and how glad I am that I took that step.

Another step that I have just recently taken is to establish my own business, as an independent rental consultant working with other event industry professionals by facilitating their rental needs. As an independent broker I have aligned myself with some of the best rental companies in our region. This allows me the opportunity to match my client's needs with the company that can best fill their requirements.

Only after I started to get warm in the President's chair did I realize how fortunate I was to be surrounded by really great people who share the same vision for our industry and for this chapter as I do, and want to work together to make ISES-LA the very best it can be. These people are your Board of Directors, and while I may be captain of the team, they are the ones who are making the plays and scoring the runs so that this chapter and all of it's members wind up on the winning side.

Please continue enjoying the monthly meetings and our incredible Joint Allied Mixer on August 21st at 20th Century Props. Plans are already underway for our 2003 Fundraiser and if you enjoyed the last two - you won't believe the next one! I am excited about our first Educational Day coming November 24, 2002, thrilled about the Fall chapter meetings and grateful for all the thought and time that our Director of Programs and her committee puts in to provide our members with fantastic programs. Without each and every one of you, this chapter would not work as well as it does. PLEASE continue your support, join a committee, be a part of a very happening organization because we truly are ON THE RIGHT TRACK!

I promise to utilize the services of ISES members every time and anytime my work requires industry resources or services, expertise or consul. And if we all were to make that same commitment then we would all mutually benefit even more from our membership in ISES-LA. Keep your eyes open for our ISES LA Member-to-Member discount directory coming soon!

Thank you for the opportunity to serve you, this is one journey I would not have missed.

With much gratitude,
