A Message From the President

TEAM ISES-LA ROCKS!

In keeping with this year’s theme, I’m proud to report that many members joined the team and helped to produce October's event at The Latigo. It truly became a group effort with over fifteen companies or individuals pitching in to showcase their products and services and make October's Luau a spectacular event. I hope you all enjoyed seeing this wonderful new venue and enjoyed the outstanding food, beverage and entertainment. I urge all of you to become part of TEAM ISES and show your fellow members what you have to offer. Please remember when you have a need for the products and services that you saw on October 19th, to give your business to those team players who have so generously supported our chapter.

It's hard to believe that the holidays are upon us. Isn't it still summer with our ninety degree weather? It seems impossible that time passes so quickly, yet I'm already seeing holiday decorations popping up all over. I guess it's time to accept reality and get into the holiday spirit. As we all gear up for the busy season that is fast approaching, what better time than now to join with your fellow ISES members at Zucca Ristorante today to share stories, ideas and partnering possibilities for your client's holiday events. Don't forget to set aside Tuesday, December 6th for a real holiday celebration at Mood, the number one rated club in the world. Check out this great venue and come party where Paris Hilton and friends hang out. It's also time to start planning to attend The 2006 Special Event in Dallas, Texas in January. You should have already received your registration materials. It's not too early to make your reservations for what promises to be a most worthwhile conference.

Your ISES Board is hard at work incorporating the new ISES logo into all of our flyers and announcements and is working on our updated website. Stay tuned for a great new look. I encourage all of you to let the board know the topics you are interested in exploring in our education sessions, as well as any ideas you have for programs and new venues. We want to make sure ISES LA is meeting your needs.

Wishing you all a wonderfully busy, profitable and safe season,
Carol

November Mixer at Zucca Ristorante, Los Angeles
Wednesday, November 16, 2005 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM
by Jamie Ridgley, Ice Magic
ISES-LA Secretary

Join us for an Evening in Tuscany at one of the top Italian restaurants in L.A. Zucca offers outstanding cuisine in a setting reminiscent of an Italian villa. The menu features authentic wood-fired Neapolitan pizza, as well as house-made pastas, fresh fish and fine cheeses from Italy. Just two blocks from the Staples Center and offering a shuttle to the Music Center, Zucca is the perfect choice for corporate events, from intimate business meetings to large convention parties. Romantic private dining rooms provide a beautiful setting for personal celebrations, including rehearsal dinners and baby showers.

If that is not enough to fill your night, we will also be hearing from Eli Davidson, America’s Leading Life Enhancement Engineer. In 18 months Eli lost her marriage, her business and her health leaving her $88,000 in credit card debt and living in someone’s pool house...without any good shoes to show for it.

Within 4 years she started a successful company, quadrupled her income, was happy, healthy and living in her own million dollar house. How did she transform her life? Let Eli show you how simple making Remarkable Change can be.

Join over 100 event professionals as we make a Remarkable Change in an Evening in Tuscany. Caio!

September Mixer at Luxe Summit

In September, ISES LA members and guests learned how to get on the path to success at the September Mixer at the Luxe Summit. Our guest speaker, Ike Krieger of BusinessSucessBuilder.com shared with us how to properly answer the question, "What do you do?" and make the most of each networking opportunity we have.

Special thanks to our September showcase companies: Luxe Hotel Sunset Boulevard, J & M Entertainment and Event Productions, Wildflower Linen, Elegant Floral Designs, and Ulrika Graaf Photography.

December Membership Drive

Next month, our annual membership drive will begin. New members may join ISES at a pro-rated rate and still enjoy all the perks of being an ISES member through June 2006.

This is a great opportunity to bring new people to ISES meetings, and to get colleagues and clients to join ISES.

ISES International Membership Development Committee has secured a fabulous prize for the person who sponsors the most new members in the month of December - a Complimentary Education Package for ISES Eventworld 2006 in Hawaii!

Anyone joining ONLINE (www.ises.com) from December 1, 2005 through December 31, 2005 is exempt from the $50 application fee, and members who join during the Membership Drive will pay the pro-rated dues amount of $199.00 for seven months of ISES membership. If you think about it, that is a savings of almost $250!

The application process is easy. Starting December 1, simply tell your prospective members to go to www.ises.com and click on the Join Today! link. Be sure to tell your colleagues and clients to enter your name in the sponsor box on the online application so that you are eligible for this great prize.

This will also be the absolute last chance to make it into this year's ISES LA Membership Directory.

October Mixer at The Latigo

Last month, ISES LA members and guests donned their leis and learned how to hula while experiencing the debut of a remarkable new venue - The Latigo. Nestled atop the hills of Latigo Canyon in Malibu, this one of a kind private estate is available for intimate to large scale events.

This event would not have been possible without the overwhelming support and participate by the following companies and individuals: Jon Hoffman, The Latigo; Bill Krenz, So Cal Events; Jamal Hijazi, California Parking; Carol Saunders, Grand Events; Rachel Sweeney, Unique Tabletop Rentals/Classic Rentals; Caroline Armer and Derek Dickenson, Dickenson West Fine Catering; Lynn Muramoto, A Sip of Paradise/Maui Wowi; Ulrika Graff, Ulrika Graff Photography, Chris Albanese, Argyle Event Staffing; Jackie Korman, The Korman Group; Carol Trapschuh, GBS Linen; Scott Topper, Scott Topper Productions; Erik Solter, ES Security; Sid Khera, Eventco Entertainment; Jeff Anderson, Party Pals; and Helena Pasquarella, Photo Flips.
