A Message From President Ronnie Jayne
First of all, let me take this opportunity to wish you all
a Happy, Healthy and Successful New Year! I hope you had a
terrific holiday season, and took some well-needed days of R
& R.
I just got back from The Special Event in Miami. The
meetings were enlightening, the events amazing and the weather
spectacular (80 degrees, and not a cloud in sight). Carol
Saunders and I spent quite a number of hours meeting with
other ISES leaders - discussing our common challenges and
possible creative solutions. Getting together with a group of
creative people ususally generates interesting results!
The big push at The Special Event was to promote Eventworld
2005, which will be taking place in August at the Hollywood
Renaissance Hotel (see article below). Event professionals
from all over the world will be converging here to sample the
best that LA has to offer. Our annual LA Joint Allied Mixer
(JAM) will occur directly before Eventworld on Tuesday evening, August 9th so plan to be there! This will be a great
opportunity for our members to attend/exhibit with an even
larger audience. More about this soon.
For those of you asking, "How can I get more involved in
ISES-LA?" here is your answer: We have a number of ways to
volunteer - from Committees (Fundraiser, JAM) to Membership,
to Hospitality, to Raffles (a great way to do good work and
meet everyone). Please contact me (ronniejayn@aol.com),
Debbie Hawkins (iseslosangeles@aol.com),
or Jackie Korman - the "Queen of Volunteers" (jackiekorman@aol.com),
and we'll get you started.
This year has some exciting events, and you
MUST attend - or you'll miss all the fun (and
we'll talk about you)! From the ESPN Zone, to GAM, to our
unique Fundraiser, to our LA/San Diego meeting, and everything
in between, this will be a year of fun and surprises.
...And speaking of fun, I still have unpacking and laundry
to do.
Best Always,
Ronnie Jayne
President, ISES-LA
