A Message From President Ronnie Jayne

Just a short note this time. Our theme this year has been "Sharing Our Strengths." We've done just that at our Fundraiser at the Cerritos Center. We were sharing our talents as showcasers, volunteers and singers. We've been sharing our proceeds with the Painted Turtle, SEARCH Foundation and our Scholarship Funds. We are sharing our time with each other. I had a blast at the Fundraiser, and I know you did, too.

Lastly, I look forward to sharing our ideas (and maybe a beverage or two) with our friends from ISES San Diego at our June meeting.

Like my Mom and Dad always said to my sister and me, "It's nice to share...now, stop hitting your sister."

Ronnie Jayne
President, ISES-LA

ISES Idol Rocks the Cerritos Center in April!!

On Tuesday, April 19th, special event professionals gathered for the ISES-LA Annual Fundraiser at the beautiful Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts. This year, the Fundraiser benefits The Painted Turtle, an innovative summer camp and family care center for children with life-threatening illnesses, as well as the International Special Events Education Foundation (ISEF) and ISES-LA Scholarships.

ISES Idol featured an evening of wild entertainment provided by event professionals from throughout Los Angeles and Orange Counties, plus good company, great food, and – as always – a chance to support several great causes in many ways.

This event, playing off the theme of the popular Fox network reality show, featured ISES members as the contestants who were judged by ISES-LA’s own Simon (Laird McClure of 20th Century Props), Paula (Elisa Kotin of Ron Rubin Events) and Randy (Jeff Anderson of Party Pals). A special celebrity judge, Tony Dow of Leave It to Beaver fame, joined the event to add to the fun.

This year, ISES-LA raised over $9,000 for our designated charities. Thank you to everyone who participated!

Also, congratulations to our ISES Idol champions, Sonny and Cher, aka Jackie Korman (The Korman Group) and Rich Fuson (Total Success Event Services).

Showcase companies for this event were: Abbey Event Services, Air Dimensional Designs, Bar One Beverage Catering, BBJ Linen, Brew Ha Ha, Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts, Eventco Entertainment, Grand Events, J&M Entertainment, Party Pals, Total Success Event Services, 20th Century Props and Unique Tabletop Rentals. Also, special thanks to Feet First Entertainment, Gourmet Celebrations and Right Brain Creative Services for their contributions.
